Things Life Has Taught Me & What I'm Still Learning

We're always learning something new as we go on this little journey called life. We're discovering new things about ourselves, what makes us tick, who we are as people. There are already a few things i've learnt, one way or another and some i'm learning.

As we grow up, we as people change, our ambitions change.
I thought i would share the 30 things I've learnt and the things i'm still learning:

1. Don’t feel the need to compete with others, we’re all working hard, we’re all in this together, and you’re on your own track, work together, don’t compete. We're going at our own pace.

2. It’s hard. Life is just one of the most difficult things in the world. The life balance, the juggling everything in the world balance.

3. It’s okay to cry, showing your emotions is never a sign of weakness I mean if it was then I would be the weakest person in the world. Crying over fictional characters and dogs i see in the street.

4. Strive to be a better person everyday, I try to better myself everyday, whether it is in my writing, my mental well-being, my compassion, anything and everything!

5. You don’t need to compare yourself to others, you should never feel like you’re of less worth than to someone else. We are all unique. Comparisons are never needed

6. Find your passions in life and your strengths, because we all have them, it’s about finding what works for you.

7. Never be afraid to try something new, who knows what you might find

8. Do what makes you happy, don’t let others get in the way of your happiness.

9. Always be open to learning, knowledge is power and there is nothing better than learning new things! Better to be open minded than closed minded.

10. Have patience, remember as the saying goes: Rome wasn’t built in a day. And it all takes time to build things up. You’ve got this, and you can do it.

11. Work hard, when you want to achieve your dreams, then you need to work really hard, but also it’s important to take time for yourself and relax. Work hard, play hard.

12. Be grateful for everything you have, sometimes you don’t have everything in the world and that is okay, but it’s about who you have in your life rather than what you have.

13. You may not have it figured out right now and it's okay to just go with the flow. That's what life is, just going with the flow.

14. Focus on taking care of yourself, your mental well-being is far more important. You are your first priority, you are allowed to take some time to yourself without feeling bad.

15. Our biggest enemy is our own self-doubt. We really can achieve many wonderful things in our lives. Beauty is subjective. Embrace your uniqueness.

16. Music, films and tv are there to heal our souls, to give us a helping hand and comfort. So go ahead and fangirl to your hearts content. Let the words of the art change you, shape you, and inspire you.

17. Don't think you are burden, because you are not. Learn to accept it's ok to have those bad mental health days and open up to those closest to you, they only want you to be happy.

18. You are allowed to be heartbroken about losing a pet, it means they clearly played a big part in your life. Don't let people make you feel any less of a human for letting your emotions out. Grief doesn't have a sell by date.

19. Its well and truly okay to be yourself, every fangirl, blogging crazy, creative self. There is only one you, so why shouldn't your awesome self.

20. You are much stronger and braver than you think. You got this.

21. Not only are you standing up for yourself, for what you believe in. You are standing up for other people too. Always keep an open mind and heart.

22. Your mum, nan and sister are your best friends as well as your anchor during the tough times.

23. Accepting and embracing every religion, gender, sexuality and culture, just means you believe in equality and that's something to be proud of. We are all humans, we have the same heart but different story.

24. You are never to old to believe in fairy tales. Your story can be your individual fairytale and the best part is that you write it.

25. Being a twin has taught me that I can mess with my sibling, but nobody else can. I was assigned that role from birth. We were 'wombmates' after all.

26. Always have cuddles with your pets, they make it just a little easier.

27. It takes awhile for people to find their calling and who they are. Keep working hard for your dreams, we are never to young or too old to have your dream career.

28. Don’t strive for perfection, strive for progress.

29. Everyone has a rough patch in life but you learn from it, you grow from it, and you become a better person because of it. Your past is just a chapter in the book of life.

30. Taking medication or going to therapy for your mental well being isn't anything to be ashamed off, we all need help with managing everyday life. If anything its shown me that it is okay to be broken. It is okay to not have it all figured out and not understand why our minds work in certain ways. This is a part of growing up, and a part of the delicate and beautiful process of figuring out who we are and what our strengths and weaknesses are in the areas in life
